Nana's Peanut Butter Blossoms

Every Christmas I can remember, Mom (aka Nana) would set aside at least one Saturday morning for baking cookies. She would spend days planning out what ingredients she needed to make the year's selection. These always made the cut. As one of my favorite memories, the traditional Cookie Days live on in my kitchen as well.

This really is one hell of a cookie. Trust me, unless you have a nut allergy, you can't go wrong with the sweet goodness of the following recipe. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup butter

  • 1 cup peanut butter

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 3 1/2 c flour

  • 2 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp salt

  • Hershey kisses

Directions:

  • Mix butter, peanut butter, and sugars until the ingredients till creamy

  • Add eggs and vanilla

  • Mix the flour, baking soda, and salt

  • Add flour mixture to peanut butter mixture in small amounts, mixing well.

  • Roll in small balls and roll in sugar

  • 375 for 8 minutes

  • Take out of the oven, press a Hershey kiss into each

  • Put back in the oven for 3 minutes

Serve with milk, hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate... not to mention, it pairs beautifully with a late-night glass of Pinot Noir.
