Nana's Peanut Butter Blossoms

Every Christmas that I can remember, Mom (aka Nana) would set aside at least one Saturday morning for baking cookies. These always made the cut. As one of my favorite memories, the traditional Cookie Days live on in my kitchen as well.

This really is one hell of a cookie. Trust me, unless you have a nut allergy, you can't go wrong with the sweet goodness of the following recipe. Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 cup butter

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 cup white sugar

2 eggs

2 tsp vanilla

3 1/2 c flour

2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

Hershey kisses

Directions:

  • Mix 1st 4 ingredients till creamy

  • Add eggs and vanilla

  • Mix final 3 ingredients

  • Add to peanut butter mixture slowly, mix well

  • Roll in small balls and roll in sugar

  • 375 for 8 m inutes

  • Take out of oven, press hershey kisses into each

  • Put back in oven for 3 minutes

Serve with milk, hot tea, coffee, hot chocolate... even pairs well with a nice Pinot Noir.
